Boaz Discount Drugs was established in 1969 by Billy Joe Cobb. In 1972, Dale Johnson became the second partner in the business, then located on Main Street inside Wilson’s Department Store.  That year a second location was opened in the Piggly Wiggly Grocery.  The business was later combined in a new location on Mill Street and has remained at that building since. In the 1990’s, Bill retired and Dale became the sole owner. Many changes in the building and in the personnel have occurred, but the goal has always remained.  That goal is to provide goal to provide quality, low cost medication and free professional advice. Dale’s daughter, Anna Morton, has joined him in the business, along with three other full time pharmacist and a staff of over 20 to provide pharmacy related services to this area.
