Pack’s Nursery was started by G.C. Pack in 1968 as a part time job. G.C. was soon joined in the operation by his sons, Mike and Chris Pack, and later by several grandchildren. Starting with humble beginnings, the nursery now covers more than 300 acres and employs about 20 workers, in addition to the many family members who work there.
The wholesale division ships to other nurseries and garden centers in approximately twelve states throughout the United States. In addition, Pack’s also serves the local trade area with their 10 acre Garden Center located on Highway 168 East, which is specifically designed for home owners and landscapers.
Pack’s Nursery specializes in hollies and boxwoods, both of which, they grow in their fields locally. With this as their specialty, they are able to barter and trade with other nurseries to provide a better selection to the public in their garden center.
The Pack family prides themselves on how much family involvement they can include in the day to day business activities. Chris Pack said, “There is always a family member on the property at all times.” This helps them stay true to the focus on the family business.
After 38 years of success, the Packs are still growing strong. This past spring season was very busy for them, as it typically is their busiest time of the year.
Visit Pack’s Nursery for all your landscaping needs. They are located east of Boaz on Highway 168 near where the business originated.
