The Boaz Area Chamber office receives various calls, visitors, and emails requesting information about local businesses every day. However, we rarely receive calls that let us know how much certain businesses are appreciated.
The following letter that we received in the mail shows us what quality customer service is all about. We thought we would share this letter commending Dr. Carole Edmonds to let you know that customer service is imperative and does not go unnoticed.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter to commend you for the service that I received from one of your businesses while visiting Boaz. On Friday after Thanksgiving, I traveled to Boaz from Birmingham with my grandmother to do some shopping at your outlet mall. I am from Lousiville, Kentucky and was visiting my family for the holidays.
While eating at the Station House Grille, one of the veneers on my teeth came off. This was a painful experience as the tooth is very sensitive. I called all the dentists in the Boaz phone book at the restaurant and there were no dentists open on that day. When walking out of the restaurant, I saw a dental office next door and a man was walking out of the office. I approached him and asked him if the dentist was open. He advised me that the office was his wife’s practice, Dr. Carole Fuller Edmonds, and that they lived an hour away and she was closed for the day and at home. I asked him if he could recommend someone to me in the area, as I wasn’t familiar with the region. He called his wife and told her of my predicament and she asked to speak with me. She asked me if I could hang around for a couple of hours and that she would come in to see me and take care of my problem.
My grandmother and I shopped for a couple of hours and then came back to Dr. Edmond’s office. Dr. Edmonds had called in two staff members to assist her. They were both extremely kind and cheerful, especially as they were called in on their day off. Dr. Edmond’s insisted that she do an x-ray of the tooth. I have had this same problem twice in the past four months and the dentists I had been to see had never done an x-ray. The x-ray showed that the tooth was abscessing.
Dr. Edmonds put the veneer back on and took her time to show me how to brush and floss properly and gave me toothbrushes and floss and made me a duplicate of my x-ray to take to my dentist in Louisville. She prescribed a Z-pack for me so that the abscess would not become painful or further infected. After all of this, she charged me a minimal fee. I was astounded. Both dentists that have done this in the past months have charged me a lot more for a ten minute service.
I must tell you that Dr. Edmonds not only went out of her way to help me when she didn’t have to, but she brought her staff in, spent time with me, talked to me and didn’t charge me nearly what it had cost her to provide the service. Rarely, in this life have I witnessed such an unselfish act. I believe that she deserves to be commended for this act of kindness. I hope that the Chamber will see fit to honor her in some way in the future, for she is indeed, one of your greatest assets.
In closing, I highly recommend her as a dentist. I have never been to a dentist with a better manner or staff.
