Davis Eye Care & Optical

Davis Eye Care and Optical began in August of 1992 when Albertville native Dr. Mark Davis moved back home after five years of practice in Birmingham and three years in Huntsville. After attending Snead State and graduating from Auburn University with his Bachelor of Science degree, he graduated from the University of Alabama, Birmingham School of Optometry in 1983. Dr. Davis has always had a love for our area and the people of Sand Mountain, which is the primary reason he returned.

Dr. Davis began his practice with only one staff person, his sister, Jean Campbell. Over the years his staff has expanded to include Jean, Jodi Yarbrough, Tina Jenkins and Sheila Carter.

Davis Eye Care and Optical offers primary eye care including eye examinations, treatment of eye disease and pre and post operative surgical management. He also has an array of contacts and glasses to fit your needs.

Davis Eye Care and Optical is located at 510 North Main St. in Boaz. His business location is a former residential building built by Mr. George Wright in the early 1900s. Dr. Davis continues to be surprised at the number of people that he has met that have either lived in the house or have visited in the house over the years. Dr. Davis says, When I decided to convert the house into a business in 1992, I thought I could make it work for five years or so. Fifteen years later, I'm still here. I am out of room and keep talking about building a bigger office but I really love this old house.

Dr. Davis has enjoyed being in Boaz and even though he grew up only two miles from his office location, he did not know many of the people in Boaz. Davis relates "we lived about halfway between the downtowns of Albertville and Boaz, so my mom shopped in both.; My first stereo, the one I took to college with me, came from Weathers. My mom bought it during the Harvest Festival, which was probably one of the earlier ones. Myself and all 3 of my siblings attended Snead State and 3 of us took piano lessons from Mrs. Camp at her home near the college, so I have always felt a connection to Boaz. Through high school sports and other activities I was also able to make some good friends from Boaz."

Dr. Davis has had the pleasure of serving thousands ofpatients since he has been in business here and he aims to continue to meet the needs of his patients. We are in the customer service business and I hope that we are able to meet the eye care needs of the people of Boaz and the surrounding area for many years to come."

Dr. Davis, his wife Lesa and children Jessica (a senior at Auburn University) and Robert (a junior at Albertville High School) reside in Albertville.
